Grant MacEwan University - Alberta - Canada - January 5, 2010 - Grant MacEwan University is an educational institution located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was established in 1971, and named after Dr. J.W. Grant MacEwan, author, educator, and former lieutenant governor of Alberta. Grant MacEwan University became an accredited degree-granting institution in 2004. Prior to the renaming, MacEwan was the largest college in Alberta, and it remains today the largest transfer institution in the province.
