Alabama A&M University Upgrades to Blue All-in-one Assessment System

Montreal, Canada – April 11, 2016 – Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU) has selected Blue as their all-in-one assessment system to accelerate teaching and learning improvement institution-wide.

“AAMU, a SACSCOC institution, sought to enhance its Institutional Effectiveness infrastructure after its recent decennial reaffirmation of accreditation. The University was initially interested in Blue’s electronic course evaluation functionality as it sought to convert a paper and pencil-based process to an electronic modality. Upon learning about Blue’s power, including an enterprise class survey tool, AAMU quickly realized that Blue could significantly improve the University’s ability to collect and analyze IE data,”comments James T. Walke, Ph.D, Director, Office of Institutional Planning, Research and Effectiveness, Alabama A&M University.

As their first online system, Blue will support all of AAMU’s assessment needs (360 degree feedback, surveys, advisor assessments, course evaluations) by enabling them to gather and analyze comprehensive intelligence in one centralized solution. “The initial implementation of Blue focuses on transitioning to an online course evaluation process,” Walke explains. “Subsequent stages of implementation will focus on serving the needs of the University’s academic programs and administrative units through graduating student surveys, alumni outcomes and satisfaction surveys. Eventually, the University will utilize Blue to offer campus-wide survey services.” By seamlessly integrating Blue with Blackboard Learn ™ and Banner® by Ellucian, AAMU will also be able to leverage their existing data and synchronize information to drive further improvement.

“AAMU is thrilled with the customer service provided by Explorance staff members. The implementation team members were truly invested in helping the University achieve a successful implementation,” Walke notes.

Founded in 1875, Alabama A&M University is a public land-grant university located in Normal, Alabama. As a progressive institution, AAMU is dedicated to academic excellence and offers baccalaureates, masters, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees. Situated on more than 2,300 scenic acres, the university was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr., designer of New York’s Central Park.
